We are pleased to announce that the Director General of the Senegalese Association for Standardization, Mr. El Hadji Abdourahmane NDIONE has just been elected member of the board of directors of the Standardization and Francophonie Network(RNF), representing the Africa College, for a two-year term (2022-2024), at the Annual General Meeting held on November 10, 2022. The RNF's mission is to make standardization a pillar of the economic vitality of the Francophonie, and this , through the promotion of standardization and its use in French-speaking countries, the involvement of French-speaking countries in the work of developing international standards, the support of entrepreneurs in the learning and application of standards and the contribution to socio-economic issues such as sustainable development, the circular economy, the autonomy of women and young people and e-commerce. It promotes the use of French in the activities of national, regional and international standardization bodies, given that the international standardization process is done in English. It works in particular to facilitate access to information in French for entrepreneurs and members. This appointment demonstrates ASN's commitment to working for the development of standardization in French-speaking countries and their participation in standardization work at international level. It should be mentioned that the board of directors of the Standardization and Francophonie Network (RNF) is made up of ex-officio members: BNQ ( Québec standardization office), CCN (Standards Council of Canada), AFNOR (French Association for Standardization) and OIF (International Organization of the Francophonie)/ IFDD (the Francophonie Institute for Sustainable Development) as well as ORAN/ ARSO (African Regional Organization for Standardization); and eight (08) administrators representing the member countries divided into three (03) colleges: the North America and Caribbean College with two Administrators, the Europe College with two (02) Administrators, and the Africa College with four (04) Administrators .
